Easter Breakfast!

Easter Breakfast

Youth and families needed to help out with the breakfast.  Letters will be coming to your houses asking for item donations. Please come help out on Saturday April 3rd from 1:00-4:00 or until we are done.  Last year we were done before 3:00.  Then help out for an hour on Sunday morning.  Sign up to help for both outside of Amy’s office.

Silent Auction Update!

Our silent auction is starting soon and we need your help.  This year we are going to try to put together gift baskets with the themes “Family Movie Night”, “Family Game Night”, & “family Read Night”.  We would appreciate if each family would consider bringing in an item for one or more of these baskets.  Please bring in your donation by February 14th for it to be in the auction.  If you can’t donate to one of these baskets there are several other ways you can help. You can donate handcrafted items such as artwork, woodwork, sewn, or knit items.  Also a popular item on  our auctions has been your time for babysitting, doing yard work, or just helping out.  Can you offer 4 hours to someone?  Below is a list of suggested items.

Microwave popcorn (various types are good)

Popcorn salts

DVDs appropriate for all ages

Bottles of pop

Board games

Card games

Playing cards

Candy

Chapter books

Story books

Bookmarks

Large wicker baskets.

We appreciate your help!

New names for youth group!

Our youth have voted and youth group will no longer be known as youth group.  Instead our youth have voted and named their Wednesday evening gatherings themeselves.  For the Elementary youth they decided to name themselves Buzz, a play off of F.L.Y. or First Lutheran Youth.  Buzz is for youth grades K-5 andaschedule for 2010 can be found below.

Our older youth grades 6-12 decided to name themselves Y.F.C. which stands for Youth For Christ.  Our youth are driven to learn more about themselves and God andthese nights are centered around activities that are targeted to help our youth not only have fun and to learn how to work together, but also to guide them as they grow in their faiths.  At times our middle school and high school youth will be together, and at other times separate.  Please look at the schedule below for activities.

Our meal is from 5:30-5:45.  Please come on time to get food.
Elementary youth group is 6:00-6:45 on Wednesday nights.
Junior and Senior high youth group is 7:00-8:00, also on Wednesday nights, and will be meeting in separate places.
Parents: Please pick up your youth(s) at the appropriate time.
NOTE: Shoes with wheels in them should not be used on the carpet. The wheels seem to be making marks that do not come out.

Any Senior High youth who are interested in mentoring and helping out with the elementary church school, come talk to Amy. We will eventually have monthly meetings prior to the arrival of the elementary youth. Also thank you to those of you who already help out. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed.

A reminder about youth group… All are welcome!
